So, because I am a very half-in/half-out politicsy kid, I don't actually know the technicalities so far (or even if the special (e.g. overseas) votes have been counted yet).
What I DO know, however, is rather unfortunate:
(1) Parliament has lost: Steve Chadwick, (female) Labour MP who was championing law reform to legalise abortion.
(I don't think I've ranted about that here yet, but in short: Abortion in NZ is illegal, and going through the exception-procedure to get an abortion involves claiming that you are mentally/psychologically unfit to be a mother, and travelling to a limited number of areas in order to have several psychiatric appointments to prove this.)
(2) Parliament has gained: Winston Peters.

Democracy - Allowing people to fuck themselves over all on their own. Note the Greeks. They INVENTED democracy, and look where their economy and government are now.
